Puppy Feeding

All of our puppies are weened off of mom's milk and transitioned to hard puppy kibble by the time they are able to be taken home by you. We feed them Victor's classic Hi-Pro Plus super premium dog food for puppies 3 times a day. Water is always accessible. When taking one single pup home we reccomend feeding them 1 cup 3 times a day and keeping them on the same food or slowly transitioning to a new food by mixing half of Victor's and half of whatever food you choose. If you transition to a new food you can expect the stools to be softer than usual for a week or so. We highly reccomend doing your research on what food best suits your pup as not all foods are good for all breeds.

Potty Training

We have started the potty training process with all of our puppies by using potty pads. We outline their crate and play area with the pads. They have become semi familiar with the pad texture and smell and gravitate towards them when needing to go potty. They are still young pups and are still in the learning/training process so of course there are accidents but we try are best to re navigate the pups to a potty pad "mid-potty" to teach them where they are supposed to go. The ideal situation is to get your pup to go outdoors so we highly encourage continuing the training process and adding backyard training as we solely keep our pups indoors to prevent their lower immune systems from catching a virus. Your vet will give you the green light on when you can let your little one outside and around other dogs.
